Monday Made It {July 27th}

Wait! Summer where did you go?
That’s right people, I go back for preplanning next week. AH! In honor of my last few days of summer I have a completely non-school related Monday Made It for you. So here we go for another link up with 4th Grade Frolics!
Who else loves Etsy? Last week I shared wine labels I purchased and used for hostess gifts. This week I have two more Etsy related items.
I had this monogram S custom made for Savannah’s nursery earlier this summer. It is beautiful. If you are looking for a wooden monogram check out MonogramDecorNest on Etsy. It came unfinished as you can see below.

I waited till her room came together a bit more before committing to a color to paint it. My husband and I finally decided on a color and I think we made a great choice. It will hang above her crib. Now, all we need is for her chair to arrive!

My next made-it is one that I had made. Last summer I introduced you to a very talented friend and sorority sister that makes the most precious baby clothes. I have placed many, many orders from AnnaMorganDesigns on Etsy, but this by far is my FAVORITE (probably because it was for my baby).

She designed a mint coming home gown with Savannah’s initials and a matching bow, an adorable Auburn themed game day outfit, and a precious burp cloth. Please check out AnnaMorganDesigns this fall when her Etsy store fully reopens, but for now she is taking custom orders. You can get something sweet like I did someone a special baby in your life.

For my last made-it I tried to get ready for baby! I wanted to make a few freezer meals to have ready for those stressful nights where making dinner is not an option. I found several recipes I wanted to try from Pinterest, so I decided to start with two yesterday.
I made Chicken Parmesan Sliders in the crockpot. SO easy!! Of course I made the chicken and froze that, without the bread for the sliders. The second recipe I made was Spinach Lasagana Roll-Ups. This recipe was pretty simple and looks delicious.

I’ll let you know how they taste in the coming months. Do you have an easy freezer recipe to share? I’d love some ideas.
Before I go and enjoy my last few days of summer, I must remind you to enter the giveaway Notes from the Portable and I are having. Today is the last day to enter to win a $25 Target gift card! You can enter HERE!

Monday Made It {July 20th}

It has been a busy morning... I walked the dog, went to the gym, returned some duplicate baby shower gifts at Target, showered, and now I am finally getting to sit down and link up with 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made It!

My first made it was a simple hostess gift for my baby shower this past weekend. I ordered this cute wine label from VintageLeeCrafted on Etsy.  (I had her customize them with my name, the baby's name, and made it all black.)

Shower Hostess Gift, Baby Shower Thank You, Gift for Hosting Baby Shower, Wine Label, Wine Gift for Shower, Thank You Wine Label

I got each hostess their favorite wine and put the stickers over the labels. To make the presentation a bit prettier I bought kitchen towels at HomeGoods and wrapped them around the wine. Then, I simply tied them with twine and attached cute flower wine stopper. TA DA! So easy, yet fun!

My next made it is one I was not happy about having to do. It dawned on my last week that all of the supplies we had to box up to move schools was sitting in trailers outside a nearby elementary....

I live in Georgia, and it has been in the mid-nineties for weeks now. So, what state do you think my crayons are in??
At the end of the year I had my kids sort all my extra crayons into my cute crayon drawers. Now, I bet they are melted!
To avoid a breakdown during preplanning I decided to remake my crayon drawers. If the crayons did melt, there will be no saving the drawers. Better to just start over while I can.

Previously, I had bought white drawers and painted them blue, but Target had some that required no paint at all. Less work? Score!!

My last made it took me pretty much all week long. I found these wooden crates at Home Depot and thought they would make a really cute bookshelf for the nursery.

After some staining I think they look fabulous! I absolutely love the way they turned out.

I am looking forward to another Back to School Link Up this week! Head over to Notes from the Portable on Thursday and link up with us!

Monday Made It {July 13th}

Another Monday, another opportunity to link up with 4th Grade Frolics!

I spent a lot of time this week giving some products a much needed face lift, but I did get around to "making" two things.

My first 'Made It' was actually done by my husband. First of all, this is the current state of the nursery.

Do you see why I am a little anxious? I keep having dreams that it doesn't get done. Well, we made some progress this weekend! We wanted to put up crown molding in the nursery since the paint pealed at the top after removing the tape. I am so proud of my husband for taking on this task, it looks so good thus far!

(This is a tricky corner! But it is all done now!)

Ok, now for a silly craft. Tuesday, July 14th is Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-Fil-A!! Since, my husband works there, of course, I will be participating.

I feel like a cow being pregnant, but I didn't want to dress like one. So, I figured I would make an outfit for another family member...

We will be hitting up the Chick-Fil-A drive through on Tuesday!

Just a reminder, Jessica from Notes From the Portable and I are hosting a Back to School Link Up on Thursday. We have a giveaway planned, and we hope you will participate. :)

Monday Made It {July 6th}

After a thrilling morning at the dentist, I am now happily sitting at a little coffee shop with Notes from the Portable and am ready to link up with 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made It!

First, let’s start with something non-teaching related. Lots of people do the weekly baby bump picture in front of a chalkboard with how big the baby is. Well, I just couldn’t get on board with that. I did not want to remember how big my hips and butt have gotten along with my belly. So, I decided I would make a pregnancy journal. I started this early on, but then slowly forgot to update it. Well, I spent some time this week catching up.

You can see I still need to insert a few pictures. Currently, I have the ultrasound picture on our bulletin board in the kitchen, and I just don’t want to take them down yet. I plan on binding it all together when I am done.

My next mini craft is a little Welcome banner for my classroom door.

I am planning on making one for each season/holiday. But for now, you can get this one for FREE! Just LIKE my Facebook page and grab the Fan Freebie!

Update: A few weeks ago I posted about the popsicle sticks I covered with scrapbook paper. I expressed my worry about the scrapbook paper pealing, and Tina from Ms. Dudley’s Ranch suggested using washi tape! GENIUS!

So, I invested in some pretty washi tape and viola!

I even made a set of black (my room is black and bright colors). Before make 25, I had to test my silver sharpie to ensure that it would work on the black washi tape, and thankfully it did!
Now, on to plan some crafts to do this week. :)

Monday Made It {June 29th}

I am really excited about this week's Monday Made It with 4th Grade Frolics! I finally got a little crafty this week.

First, I wanted a new 'wreath' for our door to celebrate the 4th of July. So, I browsed pinterest for some inspiration. Like I said earlier this summer, I was gifted a LOT of burlap, so I knew that is what I wanted to use. I found a cute star, and adapted it a bit to make is more snazzy.
Here is how it turned out! I love it.... except I realized you can't see the 'God Bless America' from the street since it is navy blue. Oh well!

One of my best friends turned 30 yesterday, and to celebrate she had an 80's themed party. Neon, bows, and crimped hair! She asked me to make her two banners. I really like how they turned out, but I will say I won't be stringing any future banners with curling ribbon, at least not through the middle. The letters kept flipping over! Annoying.

Lastly, I took my best selling TPT product and made a mini-version! My 2nd grade math vocabulary cards have been a hot item in my store, each card is a half piece of paper. Last year I realized I could never fit all the vocabulary words on one bulletin board, so I wanted to make a smaller version. Introducing.... MINI Math Vocabulary Cards! They are like bite-size (but still easy to reead)!
